What to Know

If you buy a car it will hurt your wallet. It is really unwise to buy a car with a loan as so many young people do. I have a few tips for those of you who want to do this.
The first thing I suggest
First I would advise you never buy a new car. You lose a couple thousand dollars by driving the car off the lot. When you buy a car a couple years old, you will save a ton of money. It will be more practical and less expensive to buy an old car for a first car.
Your second tip
My next tip is that you buy an old car. It is probable that your first car won’t be in your possession very long. The car that you buy first you shouldn’t plan on keeping for long. I know that buying a car from the nineties rather than this year will save you a lot of money. A great thing to do is to look for cars with problems that need to be fixed since it will reduce the prices quite a bit. You need to make sure the car is working well enough to last you through college or a few years of working.
Your Third Tip
My third suggestion is that you pay for it in cash. They are going to want to give you a bargain when you show up with cash instead of other forms of payment. This will work with everything you try to buy and not just cars. Showing that you have cash will get you great deals. You will need to get a contract from them if you pay with cash. This will be the way to protect yourself when you can show you’ve bought the vehicle.
Your fourth tip
My fourth tip is for you to save up instead of taking out a loan for the car. Don’t take out more than you need to in loans for a first car. You will end up better appreciating the car and saving a lot of money in the end. It might seem impossible to pay back the interest from a car loan. For your first car I would suggest taking out as little loan as possible to buy it.
Your fifth suggestion
Take care of the car you just bought. Your car will run a lot longer than a couple of years if you treat it right. Make sure you check the engine and change the oil regularly. Make sure you avoid going on long trips. You need to keep the car clean on both the outside of it and the inside of it. This will all help you have a nice and inexpensive first car that will run well.
